Grants

There is a wide variety of grants to support people and communities. This section details some of the funding opportunities that may be available to you.

External funding

Funding for community and voluntary groups is available from several sources.

Financial assistance for post-16 education

Guidance about the financial assistance available for students attending a school sixth form or college in Calderdale.

Grants to voluntary organisations

Grants range from small amounts for schemes to support social inclusion, funds for payment of non-domestic rates bills and larger sums for schemes designed to build stronger communities.

Home repairs

The Home Improvement Service assists elderly and vulnerable home-owners to carry out essential work to protect their health and safety. Grants or loans are available, depending on the financial circumstances of the applicant. The Home Improvement Service also provides general advice on housing repairs and maintenance.

Sustainable development grants

Sustainable development grants are no longer available from the Council but there are some other organisations which may be able to advise you.

Youth Opportunity Fund

Do you want to have a say in what young people can do in Calderdale? If you are aged 13 to 19 and live in Calderdale you can get involved in deciding what there is for young people to do and where they can go to do it.
