Calderdale Council has a small, but important collection of fine art, featuring in the main local artists and local scenes. Some of this work is on permanent display at the Smith Art Gallery, Brighouse.

This online gallery allows you to view a small selection of the collection and discover a little more about the artist and the work itself. We are hope to continue to add to this online gallery over time to give greater access to these fabulous collections.

Should you wish to find out more about these works, or others within Calderdale’s collections, please contact the Collections team on 01422 352334.

Towards the end of 2007 there will be a full colour catalogue featuring all of the oil paintings within Calderdale MBC’s collections and those from other public collections in West Yorkshire. These will be available to purchase from any Calderdale MBC museum or gallery site.
