Combined sight and hearing loss

Information and services available for those who have both sight and hearing impairments.

Community care

Community careCommunity care is about helping people to live independently by providing the support most appropriate for a person's needs. To do this an assessment is carried out.

Direct payments

The Direct Payments Scheme is a way for people to purchase their own Care Services giving individuals more choice and control.

Disabled (blue) badge holders

There are many parking facilities for disabled drivers who hold a Blue Badge. Blue Badges (formerly Orange Badges) are nationally recognised passes that allow disabled drivers to park in certain locations without the restrictions that may apply to able-bodied drivers.

Hearing impairment

Adults, Health and Social Care provides a service to children, young people and adults with hearing impairments who live in Calderdale.

Help in your own home

Help in your homeServices are available for older people or adults with physical disabilities, enabling them to live as independently as possible in their own home. Find out more here.

Supporting People

Calderdale Supporting People is aimed at people in the local community who need housing-related support and help to pay for it.

Visual impairment

Services can be provided to children, young people and adults with a visual impairment who live in Calderdale. Our aim is to enable them to maintain or improve their level of independence.
