Free swimming scheme: Swim 4 Free
From 1st April 2009 anyone aged 16 and under, or 60 and over, will be able to make a splash without splashing out at Active Lifestyles Swimming Pools - aiming to get 'more people, more active, more often.
Here's how to make the most of free swimming in Calderdale!
As a general rule sessions entitled 'swim for all' will allow customers falling into the two age brackets above to access the session for free. Pick up a programme from any Calderdale Council swimming pool for more details.
Accessing the sessions couldn't be easier. To receive your black swipe card entitling you to free swimming, fill in an application form available from the pool reception, you must also provide proof of your age.
For 60s and over only, the card also offers concessions on other activities at Calderdale Council leisure centres.
Demand is expected to be high for free swimming sessions, and places will be available on a first come, first served basis.
