In Calderdale you are at the Heart of the Pennines working in the midst of spectacular scenery at the historical crossroads between Lancashire & Yorkshire. We have more public rights of way than roads that serve to link our breath-taking countryside, and are only a short trip away from the two great Northern cities of Leeds and Manchester. Calderdale is an ambitious council working to be the Best Borough in the North.
We are seeking to deliver this through our priorities to grow the economy, reduce inequalities and build a sustainable future. We are in the midst of a major programme of infrastructure investment, delivering a £180m transport fund programme over the next four years, an active part of the Leeds City Region and the West Yorkshire Combined Authority.
2024 is an important year for Calderdale. We’re excited about Calderdale’s future. We have invested in better transport links, including a direct train service from Halifax to London. We are also investing in our libraries, leisure facilities, housing and schools so that our Children will have a brighter future. In short, we think that Calderdale is a great place to live today, but we hope that tomorrow will be even better.
Thank you for your interest in working for Calderdale Council. To be part of our Vision for 2024 look at our current vacancies and come join a workforce that is making a real difference in people's lives. We look forward to receiving your application.
