Swift Place was erected by the Swift Family in the early 17th century. The initials and date - SMD 1626 are carved above the main entrance. It was subsequently owned by the Hoyle family from the latter part of the 17th century, and Hoyle family initials are carved around the property: ESH 1698, ESH 1704 and on the barn ESH 1714. The Hoyle Family coat of arms is carved on a large stone square, formerly over one of the doors but later stood in the garden. The courtyard and entrance gates are notable features.
